New York, NY – AUGUST 13, 2024 – Diversion Publishing is thrilled to announce a strategic agreement with Simon & Schuster for distribution of Diversion’s rich literary catalog on a global scale. Beginning January 1, 2025, this collaboration marks a significant enhancement in Diversion’s ability to reach readers worldwide, ensuring that its engaging and diverse titles are more accessible than ever. This agreement will leverage Simon & Schuster’s expansive distribution infrastructure, encompassing sales, fulfillment, production, and digital services—thereby complementing Diversion’s established expertise in identifying and nurturing literary talent.
Diversion Books has published bestselling titles by and about cultural icons, such as Tiffany Haddish’s memoir I Curse You with Joy and revered rock journalist Mick Wall’s take on the Eagles, Life in the Fast Lane; bestselling business books from thought leader Mark Cuban and management guru Geoffrey Moore; and definitive works of history like Charles Lachman’s Codename Nemo and Into Enemy Waters by Andrew Dubbins.
The distinguished Diversion backlist includes books by legendary young-adult novelist S.E. Hinton and acclaimed historian Buddy Levy, as well as memoirs from iconic sports figures Pelé and Mike Leach.
“This agreement marks a significant milestone in Diversion’s growth strategy,” stated Scott Waxman, Diversion’s CEO. “Simon & Schuster’s best-in-class distribution capabilities will enable our titles to reach their full sales potential. Simon & Schuster and Diversion are cut from the same traditional publishing cloth, and yet we also share a desire to innovate and adapt to the always dynamic publishing landscape.”
Jonathan Karp, President and CEO of Simon & Schuster, added: “We’re delighted to work with Diversion Publishing. Scott Waxman and I have a shared passion for book publishing and a professional relationship going back thirty years. He has an extraordinary eye for talented authors, and I look forward to producing many successful books together.”
Diversion’s Spring 2025 publishing season, its first to be distributed by Simon & Schuster, includes Son of Birmingham by the city’s mayor and rising Democratic star, Randall Woodfin; Chief Rondo: Securing Justice for the Murder of George Floyd by the former Minneapolis Police Chief who testified against his own officers; and military historian Mir Bahmanyar’s thrilling account of the nighttime raids and POW escapes of World War II’s Army Rangers, The Houdini Club.
