Gerald Eskenazi’s 45-year sportswriting career with The New York Times produced more than 8,000 bylines—second-highest in the paper’s history. His “beats” included the Giants and Jets, boxing and hockey and TV/Sports, and sent him to Super Bowls and Winter and Summer Olympics. He has written 15 books, taught journalism at St. John’s and Adelphi universities, and also has appeared in Encyclopaedia Britannica, Forbes, Sport, New York Magazine and Reader’s Digest. He lectures regularly on sports and the news media.
